Wood Veneer Vase

Wooden Egg Shaped Vase

Materials:
3480520 – Wood Veneer, 20cm x 1.25m
2239116 – Plastic Egg with hole, 160mm
1549976 – My Colors Cardstock, Olé (brown)
1520612 – Tacky Special Double-Sided Tape, 12mm

Cut a 50 cm piece of wood veneer. Cut this piece into 6 mm wide strips. Take the plastic egg and wrap a strip of wood veneer around the centre where the two halves connect to conceal the join. Wraps lots of wood veneer strips around the egg, making sure that it is evenly covered.

Tip: If the wood veneer is glued in several places, one on top of the other, the curvature of the wood veneer may not be as smooth. Simple stick the ends in place with pieces of Tacky double-sided tape.

Cut two 1.5 cm wide strips from brown paper. Use a piece of Tacky double-sided tape to stick one of the paper strips together to form a circle. Reinforce this by sticking the other paper strip to it. Wrap the paper strips with a 1.5cm wide strip of wood veneer. Place the egg opening side down on the work surface and position the circle on top, bending it as necessary to fit the egg. Cut out four 2 x 3 cm pieces of brown paper and fold them in half (1.5 cm). Use Tacky double-sided tape to stick them on the inside of the paper circle, half on the egg and half on the paper/wood veneer stand. Turn the egg over and fill with your chosen flowers or plant!
